«Energy Efficiency and Ecology: Complete Waste Recycling at Our Production Facility»
We have built our own boiler house that uses husks (waste from oil production, including sunflower seed hulls) as fuel.
Our production follows a fully zero-waste approach.
For the disposal of husks and other combustible waste, “ProEnergoMash” offers boilers equipped with “Tornado” swirling-type furnace. These furnaces feature an optimal octagonal geometry and an aerodynamic design, ensuring deep low-temperature combustion of fuel particles while preventing the formation of internal and tube deposits typical of high-temperature burning processes.
The boiler house can utilize sunflower husks, an ideal natural biofuel with a calorific value of 15-19 MJ/kg.
Organized husk combustion does not produce methane emissions and does not contribute to the greenhouse effect.
Typically, facilities burning plant-based waste (especially sunflower husks) face intense slagging on radiant and convective heating surfaces, leading to frequent shutdowns for lengthy and labor-intensive cleaning.
“ProEnergoMash” boilers employ a low-temperature flame-layer combustion principle in “Tornado” swirling-type furnace, ensuring efficient burning with high burnout rates, improved efficiency, and low pollutant emissions without critical ash and slag buildup on heating surfaces. The swirling-type furnace is integrated into the furnace volume of the boiler and equipped with mechanical rabbler and ash discharge systems. The boilers are fully mechanized and automated, sometimes even eliminating the need for constant operator presence.
To reduce ash deposits, a low-temperature burning process with periodic tube cleaning was developed. For heating surface cleaning, “ProEnergoMash” manufactures steam sootblowers (UPO-250). Steam blowing (0.6–1.3 MPa) through nozzles on a rotating and reciprocating (1–8 m) lance is performed every 3–12 hours.
Husk is fed via pneumatic transport. Startup requires significant time for furnace heating, often accompanied by pressure fluctuations, flue gas emissions, and sparks. However, layer combustion of husk with pneumatic fuel injection has resolved these issues: the combustion flame ignites at the base and remains stable.
To stabilize husk combustion, a low-temperature radiation- and convection-cooled layer scheme was developed, featuring two-stage primary air and fuel supply. This innovation improved all “Tornado” furnace characteristics, including environmental performance, fast startup, and a 15–25% capacity increase.
When burning husks, the boiler can operate at maximum capacity for at least 45 days without shutdowns for cleaning.
The combination of these advantages, along with specialized auxiliary devices, minimizes manual labor, maintenance, and repair operations.
